Townsville City Council Planning Schemes

The Townsville City Plan sets the direction for development and growth over the next 25 years.
On 13 October 2014, Townsville City Council adopted the new Townsville City Plan.

The Townsville City Plan officially took effect on 27 October 2014 and supersedes the old schemes of the former Townsville and Thuringowa councils.

The current version of the Townsville City Plan can be viewed in a digital environment.

Superceded Schemes

A planning scheme (or version of a scheme) becomes superseded when a new planning scheme or planning scheme amendment is gazetted. Under the Planning Act 2016, a person may request that a proposed development be assessed and decided under the superseded planning scheme.
